Flora Garlic Plant B+tter is hitting supermarket shelves soon, adding a smoky twist to vegan dishes with 78% less climate impact than dairy
Flora is expanding its range of plant-based products with the launch of a new smoked garlic-flavoured plant b+tter.
The ‘first-of-its-kind’ block, priced at £1.75 for 125g, will be available exclusively at select Sainsbury’s stores from late September, with plans to expand its availability to other retailers in the near future.
The new smoked garlic flavour promises to add a versatile and rich taste to vegan recipes, from enhancing pasta sauces to perfecting garlic mushrooms.
According to Flora, the b+tter has 78% less climate impact than traditional dairy butter, meaning that consumers could significantly reduce their carbon footprint by making the switch.
Ian Hepburn, UK Marketing Director at Upfield, shared the brand’s excitement over the launch, stating that it will “push the boundaries of what’s possible with plant-based innovation.
“We know the UK loves garlic in their food and so it has always been an ambition to bring this iconic flavour to our product range.”

The Flora Smoked Garlic Plant B+tter is designed to be both vegan-friendly and free from common allergens.
Whether you’re looking to add a gourmet touch to your cooking or simply want a delicious spread, this new offering promises to deliver on taste and performance.
The vegan butter alternative‘s smoky garlic flavour is a direct response to the UK’s love for garlic, and it’s set to be a versatile addition to any kitchen.
As the latest innovation in Flora’s fully plant-based range, the smoked garlic B+tter highlights the brand’s focus on sustainability.

Flora’s growing range of plant-based products
Flora has been exclusively plant-based since late 2023, offering a range of palm-oil free dairy alternatives for those looking to “skip the cow.”
Alongside its standard range of spreads, Flora’s Plant B+tters are available in both block and spreadable forms, with the latter available packaged in more sustainable paper tubs in some supermarkets.
The brand has also ventured into the world of plant-based creams, offering alternatives to single and double cream that can be used in cooking, whipping, or pouring over desserts.
This expanding range reflects Flora’s commitment to making plant-based living more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Speaking on the latest launch, Ian Hepburn called it “a testament to Flora’s incredible research & development team that we’ve been able to achieve this feat in less than 12 months.
“This is yet another example of how industry-leading innovation is making it easier for people to enjoy their favourite flavours with delicious products that have less climate impact than dairy,” he added.
Flora Smoked Garlic Plant B+tter will be available from 29th September in 250 Sainsbury’s stores at an RRP of £1.75 for a 125g block.
