British Restaurant Awards reveals the 10 best vegan-friendly joints across the UK

The 10 nominees for the best vegan-friendly eatery at the British Restaurant Awards have been announced.

According to the organisation behind the awards, the ‘prestigious’ annual event sets out to recognise ‘excellence in the UK’s vibrant culinary scene’.

Since being launched several years ago, the awards have become highly coveted, honouring chefs and eateries in various categories including best new restaurant, luxury, chef, young chef, best chain, takeaway and best vegan-friendly among others. It also honours the top restaurant in each region.

The awards’ website says: ‘Since its inception in 2017, the BRA has become one of the most sought-after accolades in the hospitality industry, celebrating the hard work and dedication of the country’s top chefs, restaurateurs, and hospitality professionals.’

Among the reactions to the nominations, Késarum in Southampton revealed their joy at being recognised with a nomination.

A post on Instagram said: “We’re overwhelmed to discover that we’ve been nominated for the 5th annual @britishrestaurantawards under the categories of Best restaurant in Southampton [and] Best vegan-friendly restaurant.

“To gain such recognition from such a prestigious awarding body so early on in our journey is HUGE. Yet, we have no one else to thank, but our wonderful guests, and other businesses who have supported, blessed, and guided us over these past 17 months.”

In a statement about this year’s awards, the organisation said: “Prepare your taste buds and fasten your seatbelts, as the culinary extravaganza of the year is upon us!

“The 5th Annual British Restaurant Awards (BRA) has set the table and unveiled its sizzling nominations, igniting the anticipation of food enthusiasts, industry aficionados, and epicureans alike.

“In a celebration that promises to be bigger, bolder, and more delicious than ever, the BRA has pulled back the curtain on an extraordinary line up of nominees across a delectable array of categories.”
