First dedicated plant-based fast food restaurant eyes huge expansion in the US

Earth Burger is launching a national franchise expansion plan after receiving investment from Sinelli Concepts International

In 2014, founder and chef Mike Behrend decided to launch Earth Burger as the US’ first plant-based drive-thru, offering a healthier take on fast food on the go.

And now it’s looking to take the US by storm, offering potential franchisees the chance to win a full franchise fee at a special launch party.

The Texas-based brand claims to be the first vegan restaurant chain of its kind, offering ‘a healthier take on fast food for those on the go’ whilst being environmentally sustainable.

It has recently received an investment from restaurant giant Sinelli Concepts International to launch a national franchise expansion plan – and has undergone a complete brand redesign.

Earth Burger’s menu features American classics such as chick*n tenders, buffalo chick*n, burgers, and breakfast wraps.

Run your own Earth Burger

After receiving hundreds of inquiries from individuals wanting to open their very own Earth Burger, the company is launching a franchise party on November 10.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Chef Behrend said: “As a Texan, I can strongly confirm meat is a central part of Texas food culture – but believe me when I tell you these burgers are just as tasty.

“You’re not settling for an average bland fast-food meal at Earth Burger. Our completely meatless menu features bold recipes and sauces we create in-house, bringing out the best flavour in our dishes. We want to provide a really delicious meal that just happens to be plant-based.”

The future of fast food’

Jeff Sinelli, Founder of Sinelli Concepts, added: “Sinelli Concepts is proud to partner with a Texas-based brand that takes pride in offering customers accessible plant-based options.

“We’ve seen a trajectory of demand for plant-based food and more sustainable options.

“The future of fast food is here, and we know plant-based lovers and novices alike will enjoy Earth Burger’s flavourful offerings.”

Attendees of the launch party on 10 November in San Antonio will get the chance to ‘Spin the Wheel’ to win prizes including free Earth Burger for a year, reduced royalty fees, and the top prize of a full franchise fee.
