UK vegan pizza brand One Planet Pizza has announced the launch of two new frozen products at supermarket chain Morrisons.
The Margherita Pizzetta is a single-serving pizza made with hand-stretched sourdough and topped with tomato sauce, vegan cheese, and Italian herbs. The Cheezy Garlic Flatbread is also made from hand-stretched sourdough, and is topped with garlic oil, vegan cheese, and parsley.
The news comes after One Planet Pizza’s Tex Mex pizza, which was described as a category first, launched at Morrisons stores UK-wide last year.
Retail success
One Planet Pizza gained its first major retail listing in 2022 as part of Asda’s incubator program. The trial proved successful, and the brand became permanently available at Asda the following year.
One Planet Pizza’s range currently includes four full-size pizzas — Veg Tex Mex, Peppernomi, Hawaiian, and Margherita — as well as the two new products.
“You can count on us to keep pushing plant-based pizzas out to mainstream consumers, educating and empowering as many people as possible, and helping them eat and live more sustainably,” One Planet Pizza told vegconomist in 2023.
