UK: Brighton's No Catch vegan fish and chips among best places to eat

From theargus.co.uk

A vegan "fish" and chip restaurant has been named in a list of best places to eat by the sea in Britain.

No Catch in King’s Road, Brighton, is no stranger to accolades having recently been named one of the top vegan "fish" and chip restaurants by animal charity Peta.

With the tagline "it’s time to stop emptying the oceans", No Catch prides itself on its completely vegan menu.

Now, the eatery has been named among readers of The Guardian's favourite places to eat.

The restaurant serves battered vegan "fish" of different kinds, which are served with chips, peas and homemade vegan tartare sauce.

Also on offer are popcorn "prawns", lemon "shrimp" and vegan calamari.

In The Guardian’s list of reader favourites, No Catch was praised for the taste of its "tofush".

It said: "Many places sell tofush now, but the No Catch one differs as it is markedly less fatty – it feels nicer and is probably healthier. Get a box, cross the road and enjoy the beach in Brighton without contributing to the discarded fishing nets in the oceans."

Other readers favourites included The Peterboat, a restaurant in Leigh-on-Sea, Sargasso, a wine bar in Margate and The Jamaica Inn, a bar and grill in Bangor.
