Five vegan chefs to follow on Instagram to improve your mental health

From praguemorning.cz

More and more of us are considering our diet these days. And, for a variety of reasons too. The rise of the vegan is strong, whether it be for animal welfare reasons, health or a bit of both.

Turning to a vegan diet has been transformative across all walks of life, from those wanting to reduce intake of red meat for health reasons, to even those that have struggled with health conditions like depression, anxiety and addiction, with specialists in private drug treatment often recommending their patients take up a vegan lifestyle moving forward in their life.

It’s an exciting time to become vegan, with tons of great vegan products on the market, alongside plenty of chefs and vegan influencers to be inspired by.

Instagram is a real hotbed for this, so if you’re turning to a vegan lifestyle, or thinking about it, here are five accounts you should follow…

Ella Mills (@deliciouslyella)

Deliciously Ella has been a real trailblazer for the plant-based world and her Instagram (@deliciouslyella) is a treasure trove of sumptuous vegan recipes, mindful living tips, as well as plenty of motivational posts too.

Founded by Ella Mills, her journey began in a bid to improve her own health, but such was the connection with her audience, she’s inspired millions worldwide to begin their own journey too.

Gaz Oakley (@avantgardevegan)

Known as the Avant-Garde Vegan, Gaz Oakley is perhaps more of a culinary artist, with his Instagram account a real source of inspiration and many would say a feast for the eyes.

Rather than focusing on the health elements, although that’s certainly there with the account, Gaz’s approach is all about embracing the joy of cooking and actually how the process of cooking is great for anxiety and stress, as well as the end results.

Rachel Ama (@rachelama_)

Rachel brings a real vibrant energy to her Instagram account, with colourful dishes and a personality you can’t help but fall in love with.

Focusing on Caribbean inspired dishes, her food is comforting and nourishing and a great way to eat healthily, but with a twist.

She’s a must follow as her positive energy can’t help but provide you with a pick me up, as well as her delicious food.

Niki Webster (@rebelrecipes)

Celebrating all things natural, Niki Webster is all about slowing life down a little and making sure you enjoy the moment, especially when it comes to food.

She typically focuses on seasonal produce, so is great for sourcing some inspiration, while the dishes she does create are always simple, meaning anyone can get involved.

The perfect gateway to a vegan adventure, you can’t help but love Niki’s dishes.

Henry Firth & Ian Theasby (@bosh.tv)

Henry Firth and Ian Theasby, the dynamic duo behind BOSH!, are revolutionising vegan cooking with their fun and accessible approach.

Their Instagram account is a hive of quick, easy, and delicious vegan recipes that are perfect for busy lifestyles. What sets BOSH! apart is their emphasis on creating food that brings people together, whether you’re cooking for family, friends, or just for yourself.

Social connections are a key component of mental health, and BOSH! promotes the idea that food can be a powerful way to connect with others.
