While most airport eateries have vegetarian and vegan options, these can be somewhat limited
If you are a vegan or vegetarian, you might want to fly from or have a stopover in one of the world's most vegan and vegetarian-friendly airports. Before we list the top ten most vegan and vegetarian airports, let's define what vegan and vegetarian means.
Vegetarian
A vegetarian is someone who eats no meat at all, including poultry or fish. There are many reasons why people choose to eat a plant-based diet, and it can be for overall health, religious reasons, or concerns about animal welfare. It can also be because people want to avoid meat because of antibiotics and growth hormones.
Vegan
While vegan and vegetarian diets involve not eating meat and seafood, veganism goes further, avoiding any potential animal-based foods such as eggs, dairy products, and honey. Vegans avoid any food that is linked in some way to animals.
The top ten vegetarian and vegan-friendly airports were compiled using data from crowd-sourced Santa Monica, California-based vegetarian and vegan restaurant guide, Happy Cow, and baggage storage solution website, RadicalStorage.
