Vegan brand Squeaky Bean has added a duo of filled chicken-style flatbreads and a kebab.
New Jerk Chicken Style Folded Flatbread and Madras Chicken Style Folded Flatbread make use of the brand’s plant-based chicken-style pieces.
They are non-HFSS, and can be eaten cold or heated up in the microwave, with the brand billing them as “perfect for quick lunches”.
Squeaky Bean has also expanded its kebab range with the addition of a Turkish Kofta Style Kebab, which it said was “ideal for snacking and grazing”.
The products rolled into Tesco today (9 May), rsp: £2-£3/150g-160g.
Squeaky Bean brand manager Sarah Augustine said as its ready-to-eat meat alternatives were “perfect for lunchtimes in epic sandwiches, wraps and pittas… it made complete sense for us to take the hard work away and create a finished product that is delicious straight out of the pack and only takes a quick ping in the microwave, whether you’re at home or in the office.”
The launches will be supported with social media campaigns and in-store activity.
They’re the latest in a steady stream of NPD from the brand, which last year launched a range of ready-to-eat cured meat-style slices; chargrilled mini fillets; and what it claimed was the “world’s first” vegan scotch egg in a tie-up with Crackd.
Owner The Compleat Food Group recently ploughed £5m into the brand to open its second dedicated plant-based manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes.
