Firstly…how exciting is it that summer’s nearly here?! And what do us Brits like to do when the sun comes out to play? Barbecue!
So right on (barbe)cue, Asda has brought out a new range of vegan BBQ products, with prices starting at just £2.
The selection includes Korean Plant-Based Meat-Free Chicken Wings, which are made from wheat and pea protein and served with sweet chilli sauce. These are priced at £2.50. In addition, you can try Plant-Based Meat-Free Classic Burgers, Plant-Based Meat-Free Chilli ‘Sheese’ Sausages, Plant-Based Battered Fishless Prawns with Sweet Chili Dip, Extra Special Melt in the Middle Pesto Fishless Cakes and Vegan Tempura Nests with Sweet Chili Dip.
For those wanting a little spice on their BBQ menu, Asda also has the Plant-Based Moroccan Lamb Koftas. These are made traditionally with apricot and date and a hint of mint to balance the sweetness.
Vegan BBQ
Hosting a vegan BBQ used to be a bit of a bland affair but now we have such an amazing variety of products, companies such as Asda are constantly trying to up their game. But it’s not surprising that Asda are leading the way with vegan bbq products following their success at the Free From Food Awards 2021 where they wont Retailer of the Year for its inspiring free from range. From the 27 categories included in the competition, Asda won an incredible two gold, 14 silver and 20 bronze medals!
Only last year we reviewed the THIS Isn’t Chicken Skewers in its two flavours, Sticky BBQ and Lemon and Herb which would also work perfectly for a summer bbq. We hope you love these as much as we do and would love to hear what else you add to your vegan bbq.
