The next market is taking place on Sunday, December 20 from 10.30am until 4pm in Surrey Street.
It was previously held in the Centrale Shopping centre, in January 2020. The change to an outdoor venue means visitors can shop safely while maintaining social distancing.
Whether you are a plant based warrior, an occasional vegan or a curious carnivore, the market has something for everyone. As Chloe Hutchings, from Vegan Markets UK explains, the market "caters to every type of visitor and often have plenty of hot food stalls that sell delicious street food".
So expect curries, kebabs, burgers, hot dogs and pizzas a plenty as vegan ‘junk food’ tends to be a huge draw at these events.
For the newbie it's "a great place to start if you want to have a go at trying something plant based," explained Chloe.
Those with a sweet tooth should get there early as, Chloe said "sweet treats often sell out fast and include brownies, cookies, cakes, and macarons".
For the baked goods aficionado many traders also offer gluten free options.
But, as Chloe explains, the stalls don’t just stop at food and drink, you can also expect to find eco-friendly lifestyle products such as bamboo bowls, reusable make up wipes and soy candles.
Cruelty free cosmetics and ethical clothing brands are also a strong feature. Indeed, ‘conscious living’ is central to the brand. As they say on their website, they ‘take pride in offering sustainable solutions to some of the global issues we’re facing today.’
The company is confident the event will still take place in the Tier2 restrictions.
"For now, our markets continue to run as normal. Only in a national lockdown have we had to reschedule," Chloe added.
Vegan Markets UK were founded in 2015 and now take place in more than 40 locations around the UK, attracting thousands of visitors. But the company doesn't stop there. It is launching an online market place, where shoppers can buy directly from vegan producers, which is aimed to be up and running before the end of the year.
As their website states, the idea is to bring "the very best independent, ethical and sustainable producers from all over the UK and put them under one virtual vegan roof".
