5 Small Vegan Businesses To Support This Christmas

Following the restrictions in line with the COVID-19 pandemic, small businesses around the world took a hit and many were forced to close for good. As a result, consumers are moving towards supporting independent shops.

Research conducted by American Express found 59 percent of respondents are favouring small businesses this year. Furthermore, another poll found one in five people will be cooking a vegan Christmas dinner this year.

So, why not buy your family gifts from small vegan businesses? Here is a brief list of small businesses you can support this year – and they’re all vegan, of course.

1. Siren

The London-based company creates hand-made candles using soy wax.

What differs from other soy candles on the market is Siren‘s are formed in the shapes of bodies and shells – plus they arrive in climate-friendly plastic-free packaging.

Also in stock is the ‘imperfect’ range, consisting of products that didn’t make the cut – proving Siren saves on waste.

Styngvi

Trans vegan illustrator Stefán Yngvi brings activism into his products with a view to creating important conversations.

The Icelandic artist is an advocate for animal ‘liberation’, climate justice, and LGBTQ+ rights – and all are reflected in his products.

Available online are prints, stickers, mugs, and t-shirts – and ten percent of all sales are given to charity.

The Wild Curl

The Wild Curl is a black-owned haircare brand committed to inclusivity.

Its ‘nourishing’ products are made using natural ingredients for a variety of different curly hair types and can be shipped internationally.

Will’s Vegan Store

It’s the season for boots, and whilst many are made using leather, Will’s Vegan Store is one that champions vegan leather and vegan suede without compromising on style, feel, or durability.

Also on offer are coats, jackets, hoodies, bags and scarves.

inSpiral

The vegan snack market is huge, and inSpiral is just one of many small scale businesses offering plant-based nibbles to get you through the day.

You can find their chips, crackers, and clusters online – and most are currently on sale at a reduced price.
