Morrisons has stepped up a seasonal gear and launched a pack of limited-edition Gingerbread Doughnuts for just 50p.
Inspired by the supermarket’s famous gingerbread men and its renowned filled doughnuts, the recipe has been specially created so they are suitable for vegans and those on dairy-free diets this festive season.
The doughnuts have a fluffy moist outer and are finished with a dusting of sugar. They are filled with a rich and comforting ginger cream custard - made from an intense blend of spices, cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise.
Every doughnut is made from scratch each day by its craft-skilled bakers in Morrisons stores where they are filled and sugared by hand.
Andy Clarke, Bakery Buyer at Morrisons said: “We’d seen gingerbread lattes going down a storm - and had an idea to mash up our famous gingerbread men with our filled doughnuts. Customers tell us our filled doughnuts are the best ‘accidentally vegan’ doughnuts they’ve found - so we’ve made sure that this recipe was no exception.”
A five-pack of Morrisons Gingerbread Doughnuts costs 50p and they're available in stores now.
Morrisons have a whole host of vegan-friendly products launching in the run up to Christmas this year, including The Best Tempura No-Prawns and No-Duck Spring Rolls, The Best Beefless Wellington, and The Best Vegan Trifle.
The popular supermarket has also launched eight delicious Christmas sandwiches, wraps and rolls as part of its festive range.
Highlights include the brand-new Turkey Deli Brioche Roll, which includes pulled turkey, sage and onion stuffing, Emmental cheese, New York deli style mustard, mayonnaise, cranberry sauce and spinach all encased in a soft brioche roll.

Also returning to shelves this year are customer-favourites the classic Turkey Christmas Lunch Sandwich and Pigs Under Blankets Sandwich.
The Morrisons Festive Sandwiches are all priced individually between £2.40 and £2.75, but are available as part of the £3 meal deal, which now includes festive favourites such as mince pies, a Christmas pudding cookie and a Christmas clementine juice.
