New Plant-Based Meat Brand ‘BeanStalk’ Enters European Market with Diverse Range from Burgers to Pastrami

From vegconomist.com

BeanStalk Foods, a new plant-based meat brand inspired by Beyond Meat, Moving Mountains, and Heura, is entering the European market with a wide range of plant-based meat products that the company describes as delicious and high-quality alternatives to animal proteins.

Supported by a large international business group with operations in Madrid and Barcelona, a production facility near Shanghai, China, and a sister company in New York to market its products in North America, the company presents itself as a global entity producing and distributing high-quality plant-based meat.

“Our products are not intended to revolutionize the sector, but rather to offer a solid, tasty alternative with a much wider range.”

After a year of product development and adhering to European regulations, its portfolio includes traditional items like hamburgers and meatballs and less common options such as pastrami, breaded calamari, and pulled meat. It also offers salami and chorizo snacks at room temperature. The brand strongly emphasizes significant investment in its whole-cut product range, a category experiencing high demand.

“We are inspired by other brands in the sector such as Beyond Meat, Moving Mountains, or Heura, and we know that the path to mass adoption of plant-based foods involves creating products that consumers enjoy and want to buy again,” explains Business Director David Guarch. “Our products are not intended to revolutionize the sector, but rather to offer a solid, tasty alternative with a much wider range.”

Delicious options for consumers

BeanStalk targets Spain and the UK as its initial markets and plans to expand into the Netherlands and Germany in the future. The brand has already participated in industry fairs in London and Hamburg and will exhibit at the upcoming fairs SIAL Paris and PBWE in London.

Focusing on both the retail and food service channels, the company says it strives to become a frequent choice for both vegans and non-vegans with its flavourful alternatives. It offers its own branded products and private label options, leveraging a large production capacity said to reach nearly 100,000 tons per year. According to the global company, a large central production plant ensures higher resource efficiency and lower internal transport costs than operating multiple smaller plants.

“We believe that for the plant-based sector to grow, it is essential to offer variety. As producers, we feel a responsibility to provide enough high-quality options so that consumers can choose and enjoy a more diversified and healthy diet,” adds a spokesperson for BeanStalk Foods.
