The extensive vegan range has already got us excited for the festive period. New products for Waitrose this year include Vegan Jewelled Roast with a Fruit Centre and its Vegan No Lobster Marie Rose Roll. We can’t wait!
Waitrose has promised it has pulled out all the stops with its new vegan Christmas dishes to ensure there’s something for everyone.
Vegan Canapés
We think Christmas canapés are crucial for any festive party or get-together!
A table filled with delightful vegan bites and treats makes the holidays that bit more special.
This year, treat your guests to Waitrose’s Savoury Vegetable Pies (12 for £5).
This delicious dozen of vegan pies is a mix of “rich” mushroom pies and “creamy” leek and vegetable pies, made with puff pastry.
In addition, we know Waitrose’s Vegan No Lobster Marie Rose Roll (£3) will be on the top of everyone’s Christmas list this year!
This vegan brioche-style roll with roasted king oyster mushroom, vegan Marie Rose sauce, semi-dried tomato, and lovage will be a festive treat for all!
Christmas vegan centrepiece
There is no questioning how important Christmas day dinner is.
Each element on the plate brings a bit of festive magic to the big day, especially the centrepiece.
Add some extra magic to your plate this year with Waitrose’s Vegan Jewelled Roast with a Fruity Centre (£5.99)
The savoury mushroom-based roast is filled with sweet, caramelised onions and chestnuts.
The savoury mushroom-based roast is filled with sweet, caramelised onions and chestnuts with a clove-spiced apricot centre topped with dried fruit and nuts.
It is truly a treat to the eyes and our stomachs!
Festive vegan desserts
Overindulging in vegan puddings and desserts is an essential part of Christmas for us.
We can’t wait to tuck into Waitrose’s Vegan Winter Pudding (£5).
Made with apples, blackberries, raspberries, and blackcurrants, layered with bread, and soaked in a lightly spiced fruit sauce.
Of course, no Christmas would be complete without a vegan mince pie or two.
Tuck into one of Waitrose’s Vegan Mince Pies (£2.50), bursting with vine fruits, cherries, and cranberries with brandy, wrapped in shortcrust pastry.
“I know that customers will love the products as much as we do”
The last year has forced all of us to find new and innovative ways for working, including Waitrose’s product development team.
In a statement, Martyn Lee, Executive Chef at Waitrose, shared: “Just like everyone else, our team has had to find a new way of working, and we’ve spent the last 18 months developing the majority of this year’s Christmas range from our homes.”
Lee explained how his team has trialled the latest vegan Christmas range in their own kitchens, allowing the team to understand how customers will juggle their own cooking times over the festive season.
Lee added: “I’m really proud of the innovative and exciting range that the team have developed for Christmas 2021 and I know that customers will love the products as much as we do.”
